I was born in Barcelona in Spain and I grow up in this city. Now I live in Zamora, Spain with my fiancée.
I draw since I have memory. I remember myself looking at Alfredo Alcalá version of beneath the planet of the apes in comic and thinking that is what I want to do.
I did some drawing curses in Barcelona for children for ten years but what I really want to do was draw for USA comics. The same comics I usually read when I was children.
I started in 2009 in the USA comics. I worked in a different publications here in Spain since I was 18 but the more important day for me was when Moonstone asked me for a Kolchak project.
This series not work as I expected for so many reasons but this was the begining. :)
I studied laws, and worked as a drawing teacher as I said and worked in a Cinema too here in Zamora. I saw Indiana Jones and the kingdom of crystal skull 12 times. ( and after that I buy it on DVD)
Now the comics are my first priority and I think is the best!!
I didn´t work as a assistant but I think is an opportunity to learn about make comics.
How did your parents take to the idea of working in comics? My parents always read comics and have been fans. From the beginning They supported me unconditionally. Sometimes It´s difficult to support an artist but they never failed me. I really love my parents and they are my inspiration to be a better person. Sounds really ... I don´t know ..but is the truth
How would you describe your workspace? Is it part of your home, or do you go “to the studio”? I have a room at home as a Studio. Is in my house but is a "space to make comics". But I´m never alone in the studio. My Cat Mina is with me looking for errors in the pages. She is very critic with my art.
What job are you proudest of? What’s your most embarrassing? Well, I like to be professional and all the jobs are ok for me. I´m specially proudest of the series of Azure Press : Ninjas versus Zombies based on the Indi movie. But was cool too draw Zeus and Perseus in Wrath of the Titans. I really love all the characters I draw.
What are you currently drawing? Comments on that project? Right now I don’t have any scheduled project. I´m not married yet but I have a fiancée. She is the love of my life and I don´t have any fear to tell you that I want marry with her. I wish my career as an artist takes hold to marry her.
What projects do you hope to work on in the future? For me It´s a pleasure to draw comics and I hope to work in the future in good series with talented writers . I really love this and every project will be welcome. BUT... I dream of working with Warren Ellis, Alan Moore, Garth Ennis, Mark Millar... draw The Ultimates, Superman, Assassins Creed (whoaa) and Mass effect, Star Trek, Star Wars... More? I don´t think so.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten years? I see myself in five years drawing comics and have fun with this. In ten years I wish to draw something for Marvel or DC... In Zamora they are very few comic fans and most of the people thinks that draw comics is a hobby, not a profession. It´s the same for actors, writers... Well, I hope to prove them wrong.
What’s 1 thing you’ll always find in your refrigerator? Always you can find Jamon serrano. Bread with tomato like a good catalan. I really appreciate the chicken. Uhmm But my favorite food is Christmas turkey cooked by my mother. My favorite interest are in comics ( of course), videogames ( I love the Assassins Creed saga or Mass effect), Movies on DVD ( love Tron Legacy and the old planet of the apes movies) and TV series like Fringe, Game of Thrones, The Killing.... When I´m drawing I saw a lot of series and movies at the PC. I lately discovered the French comedies.
Have you ever thought of writing your own stories? Yes, yes. I have an idea for a miniseries since I was 18 old, but probably I´m not ready yet. I´m happy drawing the stories of other people. Normally I wake up at 9 o’clock everyday. I drink a cup of coffee and start drawing. I draw until lunchtime (30 minutes) and more drawing until 18:00 p.m. I continue drawing at 00:00 pm until 02:00pm and then I go to sleep.Well, I normally read a nook after bed.
One more secret: My most important dream is draw a new series for Alan Moore´s Marvelman. For me, the best comic of all times.
