Chiara Mazzoni

Penciller

Born and grown up in a small town near Bologna, Chiara divided her time between school and swimming trainings.

Once finished her studies at University of Bologna, she moved to Rome to become a competitive swimmer.

Between 2009 to 2012 she attended the cartoon animation course at Scuola Internazionale di Comics, where she had the possibility to learn from famous artists as David Messina and Daniele Bonomo.
Chiara won the prize “Estudios Extranjeros Interculturales” as best student among all the classes of the school in 2012.
In 2013 she did an internship at ICAIC (Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográficos) in Havana, where she collaborated in the realization of an animated short.

Since 2012 she worked for Lynx-Musicartoon, a famous Italian animation studio, which has produced several cartoons for Italian and international channels (The Extraordinary Adventures of Jules Verne, Egyxos).

The hard working hours spent on character design, digital painting, backgrounds and storyboard, had prepared her to start her greatest passion: comics!
During the realization of comics, she loves to focus on character expressions and attitudes.

Colors are fundamental to create the mood of the drawings. For this reason, in 2014 Chiara decided to attend a course in digital painting for comics, led by Barbara Canepa.

Usually Chiara works totally in digital for the creation of her comics. In this way, she can speed up the time needed to create her drawings.
