Where were you born? Where did you grow up? Belo Horizonte, but i raised at Contagem
Schooling? Art training? College degree. Yes.
How long have you been working professionally in comics? About one year.
What things — both in art and otherwise — have you worked on besides comics? Are comics a full-time gig for you or part-time? Art direction, design, publicity and illustration. Full-time.
Talk about how you broke into the business –was it easy? Hard? Ups? Downs? Any interesting anecdotes? When you held your first published work in your hands, how did you feel? I began though Will Conrad’s recommendation who saw my works and liked. It’s not easy, it have it’s own good and bad moments like any profession. A good story to tell is on my first test for work i went over the night working hard, i finished at the other day and at the following day, they said i would take the job.
How did you reached the style that you use nowadays? If you have many, how did you developed them? Studying and always researching what the market ask and what is being sold. I do, but it depends of the artist, so i apply the color to match with the work and the style.
How did your parents take to the idea of working in comics? Normal.
How would you describe your workspace? Is it part of your home, or do you go “to the studio”? It’s very comfortable and it have all what i need. Yeah, it’s at my house and a part of it it’s dedicated to my home office.
What job are you proudest of? What’s your most embarrassing? A Will Conrad’s work that went to a Comic Convention, where it was like an exclusive print in poster format what he signed there for persons who pre-ordered their tickets.
What are you currently drawing? Comments onthat project? Dejah Thoris and the Green Men of Mars, i’m developing a new color style in this title.
Talk about your family: parents, siblings, home situation. United family, excellent situation.
What projects do you hope to work on in the future? Marvel and DC.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten years? Honestly, I don’t know, it depends of my own efforts to reach my goals improve each day more.
What is the interest in comics where you live? Do friends and neighbors know you draw comics for a living? How do they react? They’re very intersted. They know and reacts very well.
What’s 1 thing you’ll always find in your refrigerator? Energetic and ice-cream.
What’s your favourite food? Japanese food.
What are your favorite interests –Movies? Music? TV? Any hobbies? Sports? Fight Club, comic based movies, Astar Wars, Lord of the Rings, classic mude movies. I like Rock and Classic music. Game of Thrones series, Samurai Jack, Dexter. RPG, Poker and other games. I pratice Kendo.
Have you ever thought of writing your own stories? Yes, and i expect to put them on going someday.
What’s an average day in your life like? Walk us through a typical day. Wake up in a fine mood, exercite myself, work, resting at the lunchtime and work again.
Do you have any great, unsold projects in your files that nobody’s got to see published? No.
If you wasn’t a comics artist today, what profession would you follow? I don’t know.
The fact you most want to be remembered in your life is…? To be someone who made the difference, who left a honor legacy and knowledge to my kids.
